Happy New Year!

It may seem like a long time since the last post and you're not wrong. But sometimes you need to get some distance from the dregs of a renovation project, trust me. Things have settled down now and we are slowly organising our new and old spaces. I thought I'd get to update the blog before the end of 2009, but technical difficulties ... Plus there has been a hammock to make use of:

The next problem has been waiting for some sunshine to brighten up the photos - but it looks like we're in for a real el nino summer and an overcast atmosphere permeates all the pics! Some new features to point out in the kitchen include this historic cupboard that has finally been stripped (M's dad had started it in the early 1990s!) and put to good use. M fashioned a wooden top for the hood from leftover benchtop wood and even manufactured leg extensions for the stove so that it could be raised above the bench height ( and thereby stop it from being burnt!)

The enclosed verandah contained a single divan initially (above), but it has now been moved into the study.
There was a brief (and very sad) non-coffee machine period, but thankfully this has been rectified and we are back in business.

And finally, some lights and fan close-ups:

Love the wicker furniture and hammock on the veranda. Also, the revamped cupboard fits in perfectly. Very nice artistic shots.
