Here's how things finished up today, with much of the roofing iron in place ( can we still call it that when it's colorbond steel?) I put a shot looking up under the deck roof, so you can see that we decided to just leave it as the iron rather than soffit and plaster etc. Now we finally will have a place for the hammock!

I like the raw effect of the iron - you'll be able to hang lots of things besides the hammock.
