So finally we are getting a sense of how the rooms will feel now that the plaster is up. Because the ceiling and walls of the enclosed verandah are going to be lining boards (apart from the two end walls) we still have a way to go, but it's getting there.
So on Tuesday morning a minivan disgorged a rag-taggle group of Russians and Mongolians who immediately set to work with hardly a word. We'd set up an interior timelapse camera to capture the development, but apparently they weren't entirely comfortable with it and the builder made jokes with them about passports. But they were not amused (or perhaps just didn't understand.) If only they had known that it failed to get much of the action anyway!

When they came back yesterday to finish up, I managed to get their leader to crack a smile when I utilised my very limited Russian vocabulary and wished him good morning. The value of language is surely underestimated.
Here's the laundry complete with a groovy hinged manhole (top and bottom right) and bathroom (basin nook, top left and shower, below):

Cool! The space looks quite vast. Can't wait to see those walls painted white :)
It does look huge!
And I'm so glad you're renovating and got to call one of your posts "Plastered" ;-)
